Our House is Your House!

One of the longest serving Birth Centers on the east coast of the United States, the Birth Center of Gainesville is newly relocated in the fully renovated Howard-Kelley House in the historic district to the east of downtown Gainesville. The House is surrounded by a wrap-around porch, ample parking, lush gardens, lawn and gazebo.

Inside, our new facility includes two complete birthing suites, including the self-standing birthing cottage. Each suite features its own independent entrance and is ideal for families who wish to stay in attendance of the birthing mother.

Large, airy rooms provide space for classes, support groups, and workshops. Our library contains a wealth of resource materials on every aspect of birth, breastfeeding, women's health, infant care, and child development.

In addition we have a full suite of examination rooms, lab facility, and kitchen. Our sister institution, The Florida School of Traditional Midwifery, occupies the second floor of the building.

Minutes away from hospital facilities at Shands at AGH, the Birth Center is ideally located within a few blocks walk of three bed and breakfasts, the public library, and the wealth of restaurants and cafes in downtown Gainesville.
