Prenatal Clients with Insurance
The Birth Center of Gainesville accepts most common insurances with
maternity coverage.
Most plans, with the exception of Medicaid, will have a client
responsibility and/or co-pay amount that is set by the insurance
company and may vary greatly between companies and plans. As part of
our administrative services, we will contact your insurance company to
find out what your financial responsibility will be and we will work
with you to establish a pay-over-time plan as needed.

except when income is higher than program limits.

Prenatal
Clients
without
Insurance
(Self-Pay)
The Birth Center of Gainesville is a safe and affordable option for
clients without maternity coverage. Typical hospital births without
caesarean section can cost between $11,000-16,000! At the Birth
Center, we include all of the following in the total cost of $4,500
for care*:
- All prenatal
visits
- 24/7 on-call assistance from your midwives by phone
or in-person
- Full labor and birth support, including staff and
facilities
- Postpartum visits through six weeks after birth
- Breastfeeding support
- Classes, workshops, and special events
- Access to our extensive library of books and videos
*Laboratory fees are not included
and typically cost approximately $350. These are billed separately by
the provider in most cases.
Payment in full should be made by the time your pregnancy reaches 36
weeks. Please contact us if you would like to discuss your options.

Well-Woman
Clients
The Birth Center accepts most common insurance for well-woman (gynecological) care
visits. Our ARNP, Maryann Smith, is the current provider of this
service.
Most clients will have a standard co-pay such as is paid at her primary
care physician's office. For clients without insurance, the typical
annual gynecological exam at the Birth Center costs approximately $150
plus labs, if applicable.
