Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS) Established in 1996 CIMS is a collaborative effort of numerous individuals and more than 50 organizations representing over 90,000 members. CIMS mission is to promote a wellness model of maternity care that will improve birth outcomes and substantially reduce costs.

Citizens for Midwifery hosts an excellent website for those looking for information about the societal benefits of midwifery and how to become involved in your own region. The site also explains the Midwives Model of Care, which the Birth Center of Gainesville is proud to endorse.
